A letter from Mrs. Foley

Posted on May 09, 2020 in: General News

Dear Parents,

I hope this letter finds you safe and in your homes. We are faced with a new challenge in bringing up our children in the Catholic faith. As of today all classes for religion will remain closed. It is with a heavy heart to let you know we have no clear idea on when the diocese is going to reopen our Religion classes. In saying that I do want to take some time and talk to you about Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation. Looking to the fall we will hopely have a clearer picture of when we can celebrate these beautiful Sacraments with you and your child. We all have to realize that we can not gather in large groups and that social distancing is our new normal. We will however celebrate with you and your child each sacrament that they were supposed to receive. I ask each parent to sit with your children and talk about the sacrament and prepare them for their special day. If you need help you can always go to the Website., and find information about each sacrament. Also on our St. Joseph website is a wonderful message from our Cardinal Dolan to your children.

Alica and myself and the whole parish staff want you to remember to stay home and be safe. We will get through this and will be stronger for it. Mass is live streamed on our website each week. Light a candle at home and say a prayer. Open up your bible and read a passage. We truly need our Lord in our life at this very moment in time.

I wish you peace,

Maureen Foley
