Welcome to the Sacred Music page for Saint Joseph Church, Spring Valley, New York. Here you can discover the many musical opportunities we have to offer to adults, teen, and young children. The choirs are open to any person of the parish and the community.
In addition to providing music at the Sunday Masses, the choirs sing for the major solemnities, holy days, and the various concerts during the liturgical year.

In September 2013, the Parish Choir was re-established and now takes its place in the Music Program at Saint Joseph Church. The ensemble is open to any adult or teen with a wish to enjoy the fellowship of the community through the offering of great choral music.
The choir sings the weekly at the 11:15 a.m. Solemn Mass from the second Sunday of September through the Solemnity of Corpus Christi. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the Choir Room 12. Members of the parish, school alumni, parents for the Religious Education Program and members of the community are all invited to join.
The choir is under the direction of Mr. Mark LaRosa, the Director of Music and organist.
The Parish Cantor Program at Saint Joseph Church is made up of professional and volunteer singers. They lead the singing at the Parish Masses and also sing for weddings and funerals throughout the year. The cantor will lead the singing of the gospel acclamation and antiphonary psalm at the liturgies. If you are interested, please e-mail the choirmaster at email@example.com.

Summer Voluntary Choir
During the summer recess for the Parish and Chancel Choirs, the Summer Voluntary Choir will sing at the 7:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday morning. Any member of the parish who would like to join may do so. Music selections are easy for the first time singer. It consists of the four congregational hymns, psalm, simple mass propers, and mass setting. All which can be found at the Office of Sacred Music website. Rehearsals take place thirty minutes before the start of the Mass in the choir office. Music will be provided.
